The slug and the snail.
For the translation, see : La limace et l'escargot.
Why do you dribble, asks the Slug?

I caught a cold and my feet are frozen in wet grass, says the Snail snorting.
You should be used to it! Should not be painful, Snail my friend?
It’s true, Slug my sister. I’m sorry not to be able to run faster. I have a lot of things to do and I’m slow – so slow – It’s exasperating!
So am I! I am very slow, says the Slug flirting. But I, I love to take a long time.
I’m a lazy! The more I drag the less I am tired ... I’m easily pleased. I only do half of washing-up ... my sister does the other half. So I am not asked to do things because I’ll never finish...
I prance, says the Snail excited. When a car arrives, it’s awful!
I quiver, sweat and loss patience ... I dribble a lot to slide faster ... I slime all over myself and disgust children. I’m in despair...

Oh la la, how nerve-taking being so slow ...
I go fast forward only on windy days.
Only if I’m in the right direction! When the storm pushes my house ...
I extend my horns which work as radar. Alas ... it’s impossible to brake.
One day a whirl wind pushed me in full speed into the gutter which poured into sewer and it was so fast ... so fast ... that for sure, I regretted my natural slowness.
What an adventure, says the Slug dying of laughter.
This reminds me of the day I found myself in a plate!
Yes, Mr Snail, in a plate, as I tell you...
Worst ... between a fork and a knife.
Oh la la! I was scare to death!
I went for a stroll from the vegetable garden to the house, laid down in a lettuce leaf and I felt very fine in my salad !
I was so quiet that I stayed there the whole time the salad was watched.
Of course, I was pushed, sprinkled, drowned, reversed, shaken ...
Oh yes shaken strongly...before being put in a plate and sprinkled with vinegar ...
Oh my God, my eyes hurt me but I said nothing. I have table manners!
So Snail, do you know what happened?
In spite of my silence and my important discretion, I was thrown down into the garbage...
The bin was emptied at the end of the garden but...
I was able to nicely continue on my way...
You see, Snail my cousin,
sometimes we have also a bit of luck!
